This is a vintage kantha quilt for true colour lovers. Each kantha made from 2 layers and a patchwork of fabrics to create a reversible and versatile textile for the home. Kantha 2:1 has a black, off white and coral block printed design on one side and an ombre dyed effect on the reverse with magenta fading into rich peacock blue. Quilt 2:1 is a beautiful example of the age old process of upcycling and patching together block printed old cotton saris and sheets with the addition of small cotton patches. As with all vintage kanthas this does have signs of wear that add to the story of this unique and authentic heritage piece.
Vintage cotton fabrics and saris have been stitched together using the kantha stitch to create a reimagined textile for the modern home. Sourced fabrics are patched together by women homeworkers using a centuries old technique. Each quilt is made from double layers giving you a truly reversible work of art. Use as a drape, a quilt or a wall hanging.
Each kantha has been hand picked for its quality, colour, print and detail of stitch by Bless Stories in India. The smaller and closer the stitch the more lovingly and expertly the kantha quilt has been created.
Your quilt will arrive pre washed. Any imperfections are wrapped up with the history of the textiles we know you will cherish.
We can source kantha's to match your colour palette. We have sourced for therapy rooms, yoga studios, holiday cabins, hotels and other stores. DM for bespoke and wholesale details.
If you are unable to visit our store we can arrange a live video call to show you our kantha collection in detail before you make your purchase.
