Jaipur Kantha Jacket
Jaipur Kantha Jacket
This jacket in pastel hues has been crafted from antique kantha fabric. Over many years the original textiles were gently faded by daily wear, weekly washing and the Indian sun.
In the great tradition of make-do-and-mend Intricate patchwork and running kantha stitches were techniques used to turn well worn saris into new textiles for use in the home.
Each jacket that we make is carefully cut to ensure the quality of the fabric and any detailed patching from the original textile has been incorporated into the design. Off cuts are treasured and will be used to make a series of limited edition kantha dolls and small accessories.
Cut to be oversized the jacket fits a UK 8 to 16.
Patch pockets on the outside of the jacket.
The internal seams with cotton binding give you the option of reversing the jacket.
